Hi!

I''ve been working on and off with a model for some time now, running smoke ventilation tests. Today i suddenly get the following error message when trying to run a simulation:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ERROR: OBST number    2 must be zero cells thick if it is to be POROUS

ERROR: OBST number   17 must be zero cells thick if it is to be POROUS

job aborted:
rank: node: exit code[: error message]
0: fds-T4: 123
1: fds-T4: 123
2: fds-T4: 123
3: fds-T4: 123
4: fds-T4: 0: process 4 exited without calling finalize
5: fds-T4: 123
6: fds-T4: 123
7: fds-T4: 123
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deleting the obstacles mentioned in the error message just brings up the same message about other obstructions. After rebuilding the model by deleting and recreating every obstruction i still get the error message.

None of the obstructions in the model are set to be porous...

Anyone have experience with this problem?

I believe POROUS is a SURF setting and it only works when attached to "thin" obstructions. I think you''ve got a rogue surface that''s causing you trouble. Grab one of your problematic OBST records and find out what SURFs it''s using. If one of those SURFS has POROUS set, you''ve found the culprit.

I sorry I was a bit unclear about obstructions being set to porous. Of course I ment surfaces. However, today everything worked fine when I came to work, no settings changed. So now I''m happy altough slightly confused :-)

Thanks for the help anyway!
