Hello everybody!  I am trying to include the sprinklers effect on the ambient temperature of my model (fire with a known HRR). I have build 2 models: one including the sprinklers and one not including them, to see what''''''''s the difference beetween them.   It seems that there is no difference..(i was not hoping so). I am attachig a screenshot of the same slice plane in both of the models (on the left slice plane in the sprinkles model and on the right the same slice plane in the no sprinkler model). Another screenshot of the temperature registration of a thermocouple placed just under a beam near the ceiling (on the left  in the sprinkles model and on the right the same THCP  in the no sprinkler model). I am also attaching the psm file.  Maybe it is because i have a corase mesh ( approx 1m cell dimension) ? Maybe because the sprinklers are very close to an obstruction? Or may it be the definition of the sprinklers?  Thanks to everybody!

I don''t know why you are not seeing the affect you want, but I''m also not familiar enough with sprinkler cooling to know how much you should expect to see.  This topic has been mentioned a couple times at the FDS forum (specific to FDS itself, not pyrosim).  Here''s one post:

http://groups.google.com/group/fds-smv/browse_thread/thread/b0ec6557b9ca2316/67e6c58e5d8ef83f

If you do a search on the work "sprinkler" you should see others, though I don''t see one right away that specifically answers your question.  In the linked post, Kevin mentions:

"Validation work on sprinklers can be found in NISTIR 6196-1 by McGrattan, et al. fire.nist.gov --> BFRL Pubs Online has the document."

BFRL pubs is here: http://fire.nist.gov/bfrlpubs/
