Problem:
Pathfinder fails to start and gives an error similar to:

Error: could not find java.dll
Error: could not find Java2 Runtime Environment

Analysis:
The batch file we use to run Pathfinder isn't properly invoking the Java runtime environment that we deploy with the software.

Fix:
None yet...

To solve this error, download Java from the following link

http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/6u6/index.html

Download the JRE.

That's definitely one way to go.  It looks like the best bet while I try to work out how to do our end the right way.  We actually include the JRE with Pathfinder, but for one reason or another it isn't starting properly if it hasn't been "installed."

I finally figured it out.  The JRE wasn't packaged up quite right in the installer.  I'll be uploading a new version within the hour, so if you haven't already installed a JRE, you might want to just wait a few minutes for the new version.

Fixed.

Install the new version (http://www.thunderheadeng.net/download/pathfinder_20080710.exe) and it should work.
