Greetings,

When I am naming the various obstructions which make up a room, I run into an issue with the record view.  If I click on a particular obstruction in model view, it selects all obstructions in record view with the same name.

For example:

I have a wall that is made of up of obstructions named "1st floor wall."  When I click on a particular "1st Floor Wall" obstruction it will highlight all other "1st Floor Wall" obstructions in record view.  This can be particularly frustrating when trying to modifying the code for a single obstruction.

Was this by design or a lack in the capability of the pyrosim programming?

Thanks for any responses.

I'm not sure if I'd say it's intentionally by design, but it is a natural consequence of how we made it. When you're looking at an angled wall in the record view, that wall has not been broken up into lots of different obstructions yet - so those individual sub-records don't exist to be edited. The record view is showing a preview of what you'll see when you write the input file.

If you want to edit the pieces individually, you'll need to convert the wall to blocks first. Right click the angled wall, and click Convert to Blocks... In the Conversion Options dialog, under Grouping, select "Create an object for each block and add to a group." (otherwise you'll have to explode the composite object later). Then click OK.

Now the wall will be blocks and you can edit them individually. The downside is, if you want to change your grid or move the wall, now you've got a bunch of blocks instead of a nice wall.
